Male Menopause Men`s Health
Living with a grumpy old man, or grumpier then normal? Has he been rolling over not interested, or suffering from the all to familiar "headache" night after night? Has he been more tired than usual? If these symptoms have been occurring gradually over a period of time, getting more severe as your significant other grows older, it may be something more than what used to be considered a "midlife crisis".

Women have lived with it for years. The medical field knew what it was and had a name for it, menopause. Even with all that knowledge, many women suffered with menopausal symptoms, and still do, unnecessarily. Now it seems that men may have arrived on the "menopausal scene".

The male sex hormone, androgen, promotes the development and maintenance of men's sex. The major androgen in men is testosterone. Menopause in women generally happens during a specific period and the production of hormones stops completely. For men, the hormonal decline is gradual and can begin after 40 years of age. It's so gradual, approximately 1 percent a year, there's no noticeable difference for most men. Some men may experience a significant drop in their hormone level in the late 40's to their early 50's. But it's still rarely enough to make a difference for most men clear into old age.

Testosterone levels are different for all men. Some men who do experience low testosterone levels function very well, experiencing no problems. But not all men are so lucky. There are some common symptoms that may result from what is also referred to as andropause. Many of these symptoms are similar to those experienced by women going through menopause. Symptoms such as hot flashes and sweats, thinning bones, loss of body and pubic hair, mood swings and increased irritability, depression, and decreased libido. During this time, men may notice their testes beginning to shrink. A loss of body mass and an increase of body fat can also accompany declining hormone levels. Some men may also have less strong erections

Adopting a healthy low-fat, high-fiber diet, getting enough rest, and exercising regularly will help improve strength and maintain body muscle and will also keep up optimum energy levels. This can play a large part in improving your mood and help keep your mind alert and relieve stress. Keep your consumption of caffeine and alcohol to a minimum. As with women, men who are experiencing low hormone levels, replacement therapy may be recommended in the form of testosterone replacement therapy.

Consider an organic hormonal formula rather than the testosterone replacement therapy that is on the market causing some concern over a possible link with prostate cancer. Even though there is no confirmed connection, why take the chance when there are some quality natural alternatives to those hormone replacements. Use a plant based formula with ingredients such as licorice root, saw palmetto, horny goat weed, korean red ginseng, capsicum, cocculus root and catuaba which will provide vital nutrients safely to aging and degenerating sex glands and organs.

Another natural product for male enhancement is an Inspirant, which when inhaled naturally, stimulates the production of male hormones and also aids in maintaining healthy male sex organs. This tool has essential oils of patchouli, cananga, cardamom, eucalyptus, clove, ginger, ylang ylang, rose, neroli, and tuberose. It's convenient and can be carried and used anywhere.
